With Alan Taylor and Bobby Abley,

the MAN menswear a/w 2014 design trio is completed  by

Craig Green –

BA/MA graduate of prestigious Central Saint Martins College, London.

…

Always poised to push the boundaries out,  just that bit further

Green presented a collection, which seemed relatively subdued –

in light of his previous offerings.

…

Black was prevalent colour, which grounded the collection

 adding textural interest with fabrics/materials.

Juxta-posed were opulent, colourful, patterned pieces.

Leather body harness with floor length strips,

some with carrier elements –

was an edge factor.

…

The noted accessories:

hand-held bags with front pouch

brogue-like shoes – laced under double straps

were spot on sensational.

…

The design aesthetics were of Asian influences in silhouette and styling:

Chinese skull-caps, wide-rimmed shade hats

Garments were: loose, asymmetric, layered –

kindred spirit to the design philosophy of  Yohji Yamamoto.

The collection is clean, elegant, un-fussed.

Alan Taylor, British Fashion Council, emerging designers, Kilt dress, London Collection: Men A/W 2014, MAN designer, menswear - suits

With the big chill season less than a month underway,

Winter 2013 has proven a force of reckoning,

with many regions experiencing record-breaking freeze factors.

From a meteorological perspective, total focus is on concerns

of the present winter, which is raging havoc in many parts.

Yet, in the world of fashion focus is fixed on the future,

the  view of the ‘what’s next to come’ .

…

The chronological calendar may read 2013,

but the fashion calendar is open to 2014 –

and circled are its autumn/winter collections.

…

From Monday 6 January to Wednesday 8 January

the British Fashion Council (BFC) presents

London Collection: Men A/W 2014,

which showcases the design work of British menswear talents:

emerging creatives,  established brands,  Saville Row tailors.
