To indulge in coordinating an outfit

solely in a particular colour and its shade variants,

wearing little if any other hue

in a head – to – toe single colour bias

is to ‘colour commit’.

…

Monochrome-wear is a visual treat:

an exploration of a single colour

and its light / dark tonal qualities.

…

For added sensory depth and textural impact,

fabric mix a colour commit dress statement.

…

Ready.  Set.   Colour Commit:

Choose a single colour for a single outfit.

Wear it in mix fabrication (leather, wool, cotton, silk, etc.)

Stick to it from h to t (head to toe) all in one go!

Jeffery Costello and Robert Tagliapietra

costello tagliapietra designer image s14YVL_4658.1366x2048

are the creatives of the eponymous label

Costello Tagliapietra.

Known and appreciated for their personal dress signature:

rugged, plaid and bearded

they are masters at delicate design, which celebrate

the female form.

…

Their clothes are characters of their design story:

Ease.   Colour.   Fluidity.   Simplicity.

A happy tale.

…

For s/s 2014, they remained true to the plot

with particular success in the trouser elements of the collection.

Of note, was the injection of their signature dress style of plaid –

(rugged and bearded excluded)

Unfortunately, not as successful was the cumbersome layering of

belted cardigans over dresses.

Colour my world …

clothes, colour, personality colour, personality traits, self definition

How one dresses, what one chooses to wear, is a reflection of self.  Colour is integral to this fashion self definition.

Purple, in all its varying hues, is my favourite colour.  It is my personality colour.

A personality colour is the colour to which one is instinctively drawn.

Like the personality characteristics assigned to a particular zodiac sign, it is said that there are personality traits associated with certain colours.  Purple people are said to be gentle, free-spirited and creative.

What is your favourite colour?  Is your personality colour dominant in your clothing  choices?  Or are there only hints of it in your wardrobe?

What do you think your personality colour indicates about you?

purple      passion      people
