A recent MA graduate in 2012 from Aalto University School of Arts,

Design and Architecture – Finland

Satu Maarannen is a a young designer who can boost an

impressive lists of awards:

the Grand Prix winner of the Hyeres Fashion Festival

(by unanimous decision)

for her graduate collection, 2013  and

The Elle Style Award for newcomer of the year, 2012.

She works in Helsinski and other European citieis.

Her runway show for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week – Berlin, s/s 2014

was a celebration of vibrant colour,

painterly prints and exaggerated proportions.

The elaborate hats worn successfully

accentuated the design aspect of oversized details.

During the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Berlin

(14 January – 17 January)

designers presented their inspired creations for s/s 2014.

Dawid Tomaszewski

a creative with an artistic and careful eye

showcased his offering as part of the four day event.

Dawid Tomaszewski feierte in den letzten Jahren viele Erfolge

He was born in Poland, educated in the UK at London College of Fashion and

the Akademie der Kunste Berlin as well as completing study

in art history at University of Fine Arts, Poznan (in west-central Poland).

Launching his eponymous label in 2008, his work has appeared

in noted fashion magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair.

His collection for s/s 2014 is of muted colour palette –

exuding an effortless ease, an element of comfort

and a full measure of understated elegance.

Fabrics used were light-weight,

allowing pieces to billow and flow.

Styling with accessories were minimal to non-existent,

permitting the clothes to speak softly but with

maximum impact.
