The hit song Here Comes the Sun was written by

George Harrison

in collaboration with his friend musician Eric Clapton.

Harrison was a member of the “fab four”-

iconic British musical group, The Beatles.

Written in 1969-

a year of personal difficulties for Harrison,

the song is one of positivity

with the sun as symbol of good/better things on the horizon.

The song was released on the Beatles’  album Abbey Road (1969).

In speaking about the origins of the song’s inspiration-

a warm Spring sun as indication that a cold Winter season is at an end,

Harrison stated:

“… seems as if winter in England goes on forever,

by the time spring comes you really deserve it.”   (quote from last.fm)

Here Comes the Sun

(Lyrics:  a happy read!)

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun,
and I say, It’s all right

Little darling
It’s been a long, cold lonely winter
Little darling
It feels like years since it’s been here

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun,
and I say, It’s all right

Little darling
The smiles returning to the faces
Little darling
It seems like years since it’s been here

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun,
and I say, It’s all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Little darling
I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling
It seems like years since it’s been clear

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun,
and I say, It’s all right

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun
It’s all right
It’s all right

Here Comes the Sun
