German born designer Melitta Baumeister

offers a new voice to fashion dialogue.

designer Melitta Baumeister

 Her inventive perspective on structure, form, dimensionality

is accomplished through use of varied materials.

She uses unusual substances such as silicon and

developments in design technology

to construct garments of  an “hyper-reality”.

Ms. Baumeister received an MA in Fashion and Society from

Parsons – The New School of Design, NYC and

 presented her graduate collection in 2013 during

New York Fashion Week.

In an interview, which appeared on Ligature.ch,

Ms. Baumeister described her design aesthetics as

“boldly quiet, sculptural, contemporary weirdness”

Her ideas, materials and execution explores

new aspects of fashion design.

Ms. Baumeister is one to watch … as she boldly goes.
