Spanish design label

presented for a second consecutive season at

New York Fashion Week,  s/s  2014.

Under the leadership of creative director,  Josep Font

the collection offered was

magical yet subdued

exciting yet restrained

detailed yet un fussed

Soft/delicate hues,  print mixing and skilful volume

added depth and richness.

The collection is inspired by the work of

leading 19th century French landscape artist

Jean Baptiste Camille Corot

a proponent of the Barbizon School, which

sought to reflect realism in art through direct observation.

Of particular reference for Josep Font is the portrait

(image from allposters.com):

Gypsy Woman with Tambourine

by Jean Baptiste Camille Corot

The sitter’s exquisite simplicity of un-adornment and

voluminous dress of soft shading and hue

is echoed in the Delpozo collection.
